Jay's Chatterbox: SDCC Wakanda Forever Teaser Trailer

Hello, my fiendish friends! And welcome back! There's a lot to go over in the wake of San Diego Comic Con. It leaves us with a lot of things to look forward to for the future of pretty much all things nerdy. To talk about it all would mean this post would go on forever.

So for now, I'm going to talk about one of the heaviest hitters, at least in the case of Marvel. It's not anything all that shocking. We all knew this movie was coming. But now that the trailer released, we can talk about it.

Black Panther. In the wake of Chadwick Boseman's death, we are still left with the legacy he created in his portrayal of T'Challa. There will never be anyone who can pick up that mantel again; not in the same way he did, at least. He paved the way for Wakanda and we were lucky to have him for the time that we did.

That being said, this is going to be a touch act for any of them to follow. But no matter who dons the mask- be it Shuri, Nakia, or Okoye- we know it'll be in respectful and capable hands.

(Personally, I feel like Nakia is the best choice, but that is just my personal opinion.)

This teaser is pretty tasteful and does exactly what a teaser is meant to do. We get a taste of the grief and mourning in the way of T'Challa's funeral. I can only imagine this will be one of the most somber scenes ever dropped in a Marvel movie.

But it doesn't look like we'll be left to mourn for very long as the next threat comes in. Which, although we knew he was coming eventually, it's nice to see Namor being brought into the MCU. Only time will tell if he's here to stay.

Another big debut in this trailer is the appearance of Ironheart. I'll be honest, I don't know much about her. But I do look forward to seeing what she'll bring to the table and how she'll interact with the rest of the crew. And the roster will continue to expand and grow!

But that's all I have for now. Apologies for the shorter post today. I'm still sifting through a lot of the things I missed at the convention's release so there might be more still to talk about at a later date. But we'll have to wait until next time for that!

Fare Thee Well!
